Imagine you walk into a public restroom with five toilet stalls . . . and by some miracle, all the stalls are available. Which one do you choose? (And yes, there ARE take-backs if the one you pick isn't flushed.)
In a new poll online, 43% of people say they'd pick #5 . . . farthest from the entrance of the bathroom. 21% would take #4, the next-farthest one.
19% would take #1 . . . the one on the other end, CLOSEST to the entrance.
11% would take #2, the next-closest. And finally, 6% would take #3, the middle one. It's unclear why that's the most unpopular . . . since #2 and #4 also have a stall on either side, but that's just how it played out.
If they all look clean, you may not think there's a WRONG answer, but if you watched "MythBusters", you'd know that there MIGHT be.
In an investigation a while back, they found that the farther stalls from the door actually proved to be dirtier, with more hidden bacteria. The idea is that they are the more frequently used . . . and get the grossest throughout the day. So the 19% who picked stall #1 may be the lucky winners.
