10 Interesting Facts from Super Bowl 60

After last night's big game, we ventured out into the internet in search of some trivia and interesting facts on Super Bowl 60. Here's what we came up with:

1. The Seahawks were 4.5-point favorites coming into the game. And they broke a streak of UNDERDOGS winning three straight Super Bowls.

2. The Patriots were wearing white jerseys AND white pants . . . a combination they've never worn in the Super Bowl.  (Which is odd. Maybe Tom Brady didn't want to wear all white in front of 100 million people?)

Over the past 22 years, including this year, the team wearing WHITE has gone 16-6 . . . but they've lost three straight.

3. The Seahawks were winning 9-0 heading into halftime . . . which means that teams are now 0-15 in Super Bowl history when scoreless at the half.

4. The Seahawks only trailed for 1 minute and 35 seconds this ENTIRE POSTSEASON. That's the 5th-least amount of time trailing by any Super Bowl champion . . . and it hasn't been done in 35 years.

5. The Seahawks are the first Super Bowl champion to go their ENTIRE POSTSEASON run without committing a turnover.

6. The Seahawks went 11-0 across the entire season when scoring first . . . regular season and postseason. They're the ONLY team this season to go unbeaten when scoring first.

7.  Sam Darnold has become the first quarterback to win a Super Bowl after playing for at least five different teams. He was with the Minnesota Vikings last year, but they passed on bringing him back this season.

He started out with the New York Jets, and has also played for the Carolina Panthers, and the San Francisco 49ers.

8. Some people were surprised that the Seahawks and the Patriots ended up in the Super Bowl . . . but this is the first match-up where both teams ranked in the top four in regular-season scoring offense AND regular-season scoring defense.

9. The Patriots were appearing in their 12th Super Bowl, the most of any franchise. In fact, no other team has more than eight appearances. New England was looking for its seventh Super Bowl win, which would pass the Pittsburgh Steelers for most all-time . . . but it wasn't meant to be.

Overall, the Patriots are now 6-6 in Super Bowls . . . meaning they've now lost more Super Bowls than any other team, too.

By the way, Seattle's Super Bowl record is now 2-2.

10. A lot of football fans were caught in the middle . . . and watched the Super Bowl without rooting for either team.

If you were LITERALLY and PHYSICALLY halfway between Seattle and Foxborough, Massachusetts . . . you'd be in Fergus Falls, Minnesota.
