Today Is the Last Day to Ship Gifts Without Paying a Lot More

If you've been meaning to mail that Christmas gift, get on it. After TODAY, it starts to get pricey.

If you're using the Postal Service to ship a box, today's the last day to send it with normal Priority Mail to make sure it gets there by Christmas. It MIGHT still get there if you wait until tomorrow, but no promises.

Here are the cutoff dates for the Post Office, UPS, and FedEx:

1.  The Post Office: The cutoff for normal Priority Mail is today. Or the 20th for Priority Express, but it costs more. Their site lists those same dates even for Hawaii and Alaska.

2.  UPS: It might be too late for normal ground shipping. The cutoff for 3-Day is the 19th . . . for 2nd Day Air, the 22nd . . . and Next Day Air, the 23rd.

3.  FedEx: Again, probably too late for their cheapest option. The 4-day cutoff is today, and 3-day is tomorrow. After that, it's time to ask yourself . . . do they REALLY need to get it by Christmas?
