We've had our fair share of weird callers, but this is on another level . . .
Some weirdo called in to his local radio station in D.C. on Friday . . . to report a DEAD BODY. (!!!) He called and told them on the air BEFORE calling the cops.
He used the name "Joseph" but said it wasn't his real name. He told them he'd found a man's body in the woods near a campsite 18 DAYS AGO. (???)
They immediately asked if he called the cops, and he basically said he hadn't gotten around to it. (???) He told them he'd probably call that day. But they pressed him and got him to call as soon as he hung up.
He said it might have been a homeless guy who overdosed, and that it looked like the body had been there a while.
(CAREFUL!) He also talked about how he'd, quote, "always WANTED to come upon something like that." He said the fact that the body was "months old" made it even better. (???)
They were probably hoping it was a sick prank. But sadly, it wasn't. Cops DID find a body.
He was so creepy on the call, it almost sounded like he could have been INVOLVED in the death. But as far as we know, that's not the case. Cops said they're investigating.
(Here's the audio. The call starts at 6:25.)
(Props to our friends at "Elliot in the Morning" for how they handled it. Telling him to report it right away was obviously the right call. The fact that it took so much convincing is nuts!)
