Falen's Door County Pics and Itinerary!

Hi! I just got back from my first trip to Door County. I now understand why so many people love it. My friends, Heidi and Abby drove up from Indiana, and I flew to Green Bay to meet them. Friday we stopped at the Sturgeon Bay Pierhead Lighthouse On our way up the peninsula!
We had to try Wild Tomato pizza which so many people recommended, and it was great. It was Heidi’s favorite meal on the trip! We loved the Green and Gold pizza!

Saturday we got up bright and early, and grabbed coffee at Blue Horse Beach Cafe, and the coffee and treats were great! (Abby loved their cinnamon rolls)

Then we did a 2-hour Cave Point kayak tour through cave point county park tours. Shoutout Dom! And yes, we did cliff jump! (check out the video on my Instagram)

Then we had Good Eggs breakfast burritos by recommendation, and they were huge and amazing. They were Abby’s favorite meal on the trip.

Next we visited Cana Lighthouse. Even though the water wasn’t high, we took the hayride there.

It was a very classic and lovely lighthouse, and it’s the only one we got to climb up!

Once we got back, we had amazing treats waiting on us from our Airbnb host, called Galecktables, and she sells them at stores throughout town. They’re so amazing, and we ordered more to take home! Here is the Airbnb we stayed in. Small and perfect!

Next we went to Chop. Good food, but then the real food highlight came after that for me. We stopped at Door County Creamery, and ended up getting ice cream 3 days in a row because it was so good. My favorite was the olive oil sea salt, and Heidi’s was the fig and almond.

Sunday was a long day. We grabbed coffee, saw the winding road, took the ferry to Washington Island and started our day at the Fragrant Isle Lavender Farm. We tried all lavender food and drinks, did annoying photo shoots and really enjoyed it. It was peak blooming season.

Then we took another ferry to Rock Island to see the light house. We were not prepared for a 1.5 mile hike each way in dresses and sandals, and because we didn’t want to miss the hourly ferry, we ran almost the whole way back and barely made it. We were so sweaty and dirty and out of breath! It was comedic. (this is gonna fire some people up, but I could have skipped this part...don't yell at me!)

Once we crossed back to Washington Island, we went to Schoolhouse Beach, and it was easily the most beautiful beach we saw there. We didn’t take any rocks, don’t worry. I wish we had our swimwear and water shoes with us. We just didn’t plan a beach day there which was a mistake!

We headed back on the ferry and got lunch right where the ferry docks. They have great and huge sandwiches there!

We had dinner at Wilson’s and checked out more of Fish Creek.

Monday we went to Al Johnson’s for the famous pancakes and goats (the goats aren't always out btw, so plan accordingly). It was a delight. We also grabbed coffee at Skip Stone. Then we went to Fish Creek for shopping. My favorite stores were Sister Golden and the Great Outdoors (where I finally got a small chainsaw bear).

Abby wanted cherry wine the whole time. She and Heidi did a tasting, and they let me try theirs at Lautenbach’s Orchard. They also got a lot of cherry things to take home!

Next we went into Peninsula State park to see the lighthouse there and to go to the beach. It wasn’t my favorite beach, but it was fine. The water wasn’t as clear as it had been in other areas.

We went home, cleaned up, had dinner at a place I wouldn’t recommend lol, and got ice cream again and called it a night!
I would say when planning your trip, almost everything is close, so the whole Sister Bay, Fish Creek, Ephraim is where we primarily were. Check store hours. A lot of places are closed on Mondays or Tuesdays. I cannot wait to go back with my family. I hear fall and winter are stunning too! I have a post on Facebook for recs btw, so you can find more on that post in the comments!
Thank you for all of the recommendations and for looking at my pictures:)
