RSVP August Book Club

In July, we read Verity, and it was probably the best discussion we've had in years! People loved it SO much!

In August, we're reading "Where the Crawdads Sing". This will most likely be my last book club of the year. We'll be meeting at the radio station on Wednesday, August 28th 6p-8p at (1600 Utica Ave S. St. Louis Park 5th floor-it's in the West End area). Dinner will be provided by Green Mill, and we'll have official book club t-shirts from MELSA! Plus, North Memorial Health will be joining us for a quick little "exercise" in the beginning.

Click here to RSVP! Also, if something comes up, and you can no longer attend, please go back into your tickets and cancel your RSVP so others waiting can grab tickets. If you don't get tickets, don't worry. People always cancel...especially the week of and day of! I'd suggest you still read the book, and check the link the week of:) Also, join the Facebook Group FalenKDWB Book Club, people post in there when they're freeing up their tickets!

Side note: 8/28 is also Library day at the State Fair. If you take your library card with you, you get a discount on your fair tickets!

About the Book: For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand. Then the time comes when she yearns to be touched and loved. When two young men from town become intrigued by her wild beauty, Kya opens herself to a new life--until the unthinkable happens.
