I wanted to go Katy Perry platinum blonde. Why not? I've never been blonde before. After mentioning it, everyone was like DO NOT DO IT! They freaked me out. They said it would ruin my hair, and I didn't want that to happen obviously. I emailed a guy I know, Charlie, and he's a professional (owner of Haus). He reassured me if it was done properly, my hair would not be ruined.
SO...I went to see Alexa Rae at Haus Salon in the North Loop. This is not an ad FYI-totally paid full price. (Instagram: @raeathaus) She specializes in taking dark hair to blonde. It is a process, and this is what I look like after phase 1. It looks blonder in certain lighting obviously, and I'm going to try this out for a while to see how I like it. So far...I'm a big fan, and the texture of my hair does NOT feel like straw which is another thing I was warned about! (AND you're welcome for the delightful Christmas pj outfit:)
