Weird Barbie is iconic in the movie but did not get any merchandise until now.
The doll was based on director Greta Gerwig's childhood dolls that she used to play with. The nostalgic factor helped everyone connect to the character in the film. The doll has the iconic pink dress, short blonde hair, pink and blue highlights, and some unique squiggles across her face. The fandom ended up loving her, demanding that there be merch.
Mattel saw the demand for the Barbie played by Kate Mckinnon and is releasing a limited amount which you can preorder till August 18th. The dolls sadly won't be shipped till May 31st, 2024. But it's worth the wait
