Since the Barbie movie debuted, an Allan doll has not been produced for the movie, causing Allan fans to rush to eBay.
Due to the rationed doll not being produced since the 60s, many fans are buying out all the available dolls on the market. The doll was originally for around $50 to $70 but has run up in the hundreds. You can find an average listing for $300-$400 in perfect condition.
Michael Cera plays Allan in the Barbie movie. He actually had his very own Allan doll in his makeup room which gave him confidence in the role he was playing. The doll was manufactured to be Ken’s best friend back in 1964 but didn't do well in sales. The doll was based on Barbara Handler's husband, Allan Handler.
