There’s a horrible infestation of pine beetles in the trees here. No one knows what to do about it and with global warming they are thicker than ever. It’s kind of scary because within a few years they could take out thousands and thousands of acres. I had to cut down a few of the trees that had been killed.
I’m not sure what kind of flowers these are, but when I was in kindergarten, I’ll never forget. My teacher telling us that this flower is the first sign of spring in Colorado.
You know, me and my crockpot meals! This is chicken thighs with curry and vegetables. It looks a little soupy, but it was really good! Watch for the recipe on my Instagram later this week!
I made a new friend on the trail up Pikes Peak! This is Shyan, pronounced “Shawn.” We started talking and it felt really good to answer a bunch of questions he had about the trail. He’s never done it before and I was really proud to be able to help him out. We ran into each other a couple of times and I sent him a link to listen to our show on the iHeartRadio app! Plus, we’re gonna stay in touch and see how his training is going.
This is me next to the Manitou incline. If you’ve never heard of the Manitou incline, look it up. It is by far the most popular hike in Colorado Springs. So popular that you have to make a reservation to use the trail. You can see someone in the background who is hiking up the incline, which is different than the trail that I took up.
