Dave's Hollywood Vacation and July 4th in 11 Photos!

Hello! Hope you had a good long holiday weekend! The weather looked iffy here and there but it finally turned out to be pretty nice!

We were in LA last week to help find my son Carson find an apartment. We looked at 10 different places before we finally found one that was safe, moderately affordable and close to what he wants to be close to.

So here we go with 11 photos from LA and America's Number One City to Live: Chanhassen, Minnesota!

People like me (and Miley Cyrus in Party in the USA get a big thrill when we see the Hollywood sign so of course, I had to get a picture!

Hollywood Blvd is kinda cool and kinda disappointing at the same time. I actually got over the disappointment a long time ago so now I just think it's cool! This is Carson and Susan walking down the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Carson wants to be in the music business so I got a picture of him in front of the iconic Capitol Records Building.

Just a few blocks off Hollywood Blvd is Runyun Canyon, a place where locals love to hike. This is a view from what they call "Inspiration Point."

We went to Santa Monica Pier and went on the Ferris Wheel!

And we took a day and went to Disneyland!

I've always wanted to go on the Disneyland Riverboat. I think Susan and Carson thought it was boring but I loved it!

Back home again! Just enjoying some time playing uke with my girl.

Sunday, we went to the Chanhassen 4th of July festival. I loved this little trio! And of course, I had to talk to them and they were so friendly. The banjo player's name is Debbie Shreyer and she's in the Banjo Hall of Fame!

I had a blast calling Bingo on Monday! Shout out to Jerry who drew all the numbers and laughed at my lame jokes, such as: "What do you call a bear with no teeth? A GUMMY Bear!" (Hey, there were kids there...what did you expect?)

And announcing the Chan 4th Parade! Shout out to my co-announcer, Ruth!

And my wife's Chanhassen Board and Brush float.

I can't believe the 4th of July has come and gone already! Enjoy your summer in Minnesota! Have a great week!

-Dave
