Hi it's Dave. I haven't left the house since Friday night when I ran to Cub to buy ingredients for the crockpot chicken and dumplings I made Saturday. (Here's the recipe) Therefore, my weekend photos aren't going to be that exciting.
But let's get started!
This cracked me up. A dozen pinecones going for 6 bucks! I grew up in a pine forest and these were everywhere! I mean, we walked on them and kicked them around the way some people kick rocks. But I suppose it's kind of like people buying seashells; if they don't exist where you are, they're a novelty.
This way my day on Saturday. I made chicken and dumplings in a crockpot. It was a fairly involved recipe but I love that, and the smell in the house was amazing and the anticipation of it being done was just awesome. They were good too! I'd give them 4.5 out of 5 stars. I don't know exactly what a flavor profile is, but I think it had a very complex flavor profile that kept it from getting 5 stars. Again, here's the recipe.
Susan runs Board and Brush in Chanhassen and one of their popular projects is a big wall clock. I taught her how to use a router to make a space in the back of the clock for the mechanism to fit into. She caught on right away and routed like a champ!
A cool night Saturday brought Josie and Roger to the fireplace. This is a perfect example of how Roger is the boss of Josie because he took the best spot and she didn't argue. BTW, whenever I post a picture with that silver little thing in the background, people ask what it is. I picked it up at HOM Furniture 20 years ago. It's Charlie Brown with Snoopy on his lap. I love Peanuts!
Sunday afternoon we did a Zoom call with all my kids! This is the moment when Allison holds up her daughter Ava for Chase and his fiancee' Maddie to see for the first time. (Well, not exactly the first time cuz they've seen pictures). So next time you want everyone on Zoom to smile, hold up a baby!
