Bailey's Florida Friend Comes to Town

My friend Kyle is in town! He came for the Ellen Degeneres show, so I tried to show him as much of Minneapolis as possible in the 1.5 days he was here.

Friday after the show I raced to Minnehaha Academy for the annual Debate Workshop, where we learned more about the first Resolution of the upcoming Debate season! I got to see my coach friends and had two of my students show, so it was great!

We had a Dave Ryan Show Happy Hour at Smashpark in Roseville and it was so fun! I met so many lovely listeners (shoutout Aida and Jenna and Cookie and Jody and Jill and Jenny and Rob etc etc etc)

My friend Kyle from Disney came into town on Saturday and I said I'd be his chauffeur and tour guide for the weekend. We went to the Blue Door for Juicy Lucys (Matt's Bar had too long a wait), hit up the Uptown Porchfest (which was so neat!), and I showed Kyle the Cherry and the Spoon. Then I dropped him off at the Orpheum for Ellen's show, and afterwards we went to The Saloon (shoutout Cory and Aaron!) and Wrecktangle pizza.

We got cocktails at Tattersall Distillery as well and drove around Lake of the Isles and Cedar Lake. (I told you I tried to show him as much as humanly possible)

While Kyle was at his show, I went to see my friend Hannah in another burlesque show at the Dabbler Depot Seed & Sesh. They were doing a straight drag king act this time, but there was plenty of burlesque to be had! It was fun, but I went to the wrong place first and ended up getting lost and missing half the show. Oh well.

Kyle is a huge fan of Drop Dead Gorgeous so it was a lifelong dream of his to go to Mall of America. We walked around, he got a souvenir magnet, we saw Vont at the Paul Russell event, and we got signature mall treats!

And of course we hit up Nickelodeon Universe and rose a few rides. I was always too scared to ride roller coasters as a kid, so I finally got to ride the Pepsi Orange Streak (or the Ripsaw when it was Camp Snoopy) and it was SO MUCH FUN. We were going to do the Log Chute as well, but after sweating in line for 35 minutes with no end in sight, we gave up.
