Jenny's Trip to Iceland in 10 Pics!

I just spent 10 days in Iceland with my sister Katie and let me tell you, I fell in LOVE with that country! It's so beautiful and offers tons of adventures that fuel my soul. I took a million pictures but decided to just post one from each day we were there. I'll be posting a ton more about my trip on my Travel Blog this week that you can check out here! I also have more pictures and videos on my Instagram!

Okay so we started off the trip exploring in Reykjavik! We got cinnamon rolls from the famous Braud & Co, checked out Hallgrimskirkja, did some shopping & wandered around. We of course had to get a picture on Rainbow Street!

Day 2 we started our journey Northwest on the Ring Road. We hiked to a waterfall, and drove around the entire Snaefellsnes Pennisula. This is Kirkjufell Mountain.

Day 3 we continued on to the city of Akureyri. It rained most of this day but it worked out pretty well with our schedule cause it ended up being a long day of driving. We stopped off at one point to pet some Icelandic horses.

Day 4 we explored the city of Akureyri. It was my favorite city we visited. They have heart signs on their stoplights!

Day 5 we spent exploring the Northeast part of the country. We hiked up a crater, explored the Eastern fjord towns and stopped at Hverir Geothermal Area which reminded me a lot of Yellowstone!

Day 6 we started exploring the more popular areas of Icleand like Stokksnes, Glacial Lagoon, Diamond Beach. Glacial Lagoon was really cool. I've never seen icebergs before, however Diamond Beach was a huge letdown. The ice chunks were tiny but I did read ahead of time that in the summer months, they're not very impressive.

Day 7 we saw puffins! We spent a good amount of time at the spot these puffins were flying in and out of just observing them. They're super adorable creatures.

Day 8 we did one of our tougher hikes of the trip to Mulagljufur Canyon. There were fantastic views the entire way of glaciers, waterfalls, the canyon, birds. We both loved it!

Day 9 we hit up a ton of the famous waterfalls. This was Kvernufoss and the first one we saw that we were able to go behind. We didn't get too wet at this one but Skogafoss was a different story.

And we ended the trip back in Reykjavik getting hot dogs from what most people say is the best hot dog stand in Iceland, Baejarins Beztu Pylsur. And it really was a fantastic hot dog!

We traveled around in a campervan on this trip and had an amazing time. I love seeing new places but Iceland is definitely a country I'll want to go back to in the future! Make sure to keep an eye out on my travel blog for my full itinerary, how to travel around Iceland in a campervan, and tips to keep your trip affordable :)
