Full House star Dave Coulier recently revealed that he was diagnosed with Stage 3 Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, and he's sharing an uplifting message with fans, but especially for anyone who is also in similar circumstances.
On his Instagram stories, Coulier shared a photo of himself receiving chemotherapy treatment, while giving a thumbs up to the camera. He wrote along with the snap, "Putting a positive spin and sending love to all of you who are battling and going through chemo. And remember to laugh."
Coulier also shared a video urging fans to get their annual scans for early detection via the "Full House Rewind" podcast Instagram.
Dave revealed his diagnosis to PEOPLE and on "The Today Show" of how he found out about his Non-Hodgkin lymphoma, sharing with PEOPLE that after suffering from an upper respiratory infection that caused swelling in his lymph nodes — one area swelling up to the size of a golf ball. His doctors advised him to get the appropriate scans done (CAT and PET), as well as a biopsy, and ultimately, it showed the life-changing diagnosis.
Coulier told the magazine, "Three days later, my doctors called me back and they said, 'We wish we had better news for you, but you have non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and it's called B cell and it's very aggressive.'" He added, "I went from, I got a little bit of a head cold to I have cancer, and it was pretty overwhelming. This has been a really fast roller coaster ride of a journey."
