Could Sabrina Carpenter play Sophie's daughter in Mamma Mia 3? Amanda Seyfried is here for it!
In a new interview with ABC News, Seyfried was asked what her thoughts were on Carpenter taking on the role in the third installment of the iconic movie franchise, after Sabrina covered "Mamma Mia" on the opening night of her "Short n' Sweet" Tour. Amanda responded, "If Sabrina Carpenter wants to play my daughter, I’ll make it happen. I’m a big fan."
If the shoe fits ... Sabrina would be a great and natural cast for Sophie's daughter.
As for if Mamma Mia 3 is actually happening, all of our fingers are crossed, including Amanda's, as you can see in the interview. She said, "Everybody says it’s gonna happen, but I mean, I haven’t seen a script."
While Seyfried may not have seen a script yet, it seems like plans are in motion. Christine Baranski, who plays Tanya, told The Hollywood Reporter over the summer that she met with producer Judy Craymer, revealing, "She gave me the narrative plotline of how it’s going to happen. That’s all I can say!"
And miss Donna herself, Meryl Streep, told Deadline in the spring, "I don’t know how they're going to do it. They have an idea. I haven’t heard it yet but it’s in [my diary] and I’m going to hear about it pretty soon."
