Remember the 2014 Oscars, when Ellen DeGeneres took the most star-studded selfie EVER? Yes, believe it or not, it's been 10 years. And in those 10 years, BAD THINGS have happened to most of the people in the photo.
So the "New York Post" is asking if it's CURSED. Obviously it's not, but we can have a little fun with this, can't we?
Here's a list of the CARNAGE:
1. Ellen: Called out in a 2020 article for a toxic work environment on her show. The allegations only grew from there, and she ended the show in 2022.
2. Kevin Spacey: Where do we start? He was fired from "House of Cards" in 2017, due to sexual assault allegations. He's still never been convicted of anything, but his career hasn't recovered.
3. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie: Filed for divorce in 2016, and boy did it get ugly. In fact, it's STILL pretty ugly.
4. Meryl Streep: Last year, it was revealed that she had separated from her husband Don Gummer in 2017 . . . after almost 40 years together.
5. Bradley Cooper: He was nominated for an Oscar that night, and didn't win. He's lost SEVEN more Oscars since. He'd also lost one in 2013. He's nominated for THREE this year for "Maestro", so we'll see.
If he gets shut out this year, he'll be 0 for 12 . . . 0 for 11 since the selfie.
6. Jared Leto: He actually won an Oscar that year for "Dallas Buyers Club". But since then, he's played the most universally-hated Joker in "Suicide Squad", and appeared in "House of Gucci", "Morbius", and "Haunted Mansion".
7. Julia Roberts: Her filmography since 2014 has been pretty underwhelming . . . although she did play Smurf Willow in "Smurfs: The Lost Village". (???)
The remaining people in the selfie Jennifer Lawrence, Channing Tatum, Lupita Nyong'o, and her brother Peter seem to be doing okay. For now.
