Twin Cities Aid Map - Updated daily with places open for receiving donations, distributing donations, open for both, confirmed closed & status unknown

Boys and Girls Club and YWCA: 1616 Park Avenue - It is difficult for some folks to get to Lake Street, we are setting up a donation drop off site at 1616 Park Avenue where we have rented a truck to make big drop offs at Boys and Girls Club and YWCA.

They have specifically asked for these items:

  • Baby Wipes
  • Baby Food
  • Period Products
  • Non-perishable food (Cooking Oil, Peanut Butter, Rice, Beans, Tortillas, Spices and Condiments, Single Serving Snacks, Coffee, Bottled water, Sugar)
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Children’s Advil/Tylenol
  • Blue Similac Formula
  • Toiletries/ Household goods (Detergent, Toothpaste, Deodorant, Dish Soap, Shampoo and Conditioner, Disinfecting wipes)

Donate money:

The Lake Street Council in Minneapolis is collecting donations to support small businesses and nonprofits that need to rebuild. Donations can be made on their website.

• In St. Paul, the Neighbors United Funding Collaborative is similarly raising money to help businesses rebuild.

• Midtown Global Market is raising funds to repair damage and support small businesses in the community. People can get more details on donating here.

Help clean up (people are encouraged to bring brooms, trash bags, work gloves and masks):

• Volunteers are gathering near Phelps Park Field in Minneapolis, at the intersection of Columbus Avenue and E. 39th Street, to do clean up work from noon to 4 p.m. Monday.

University of Minnesota student groups are meeting at 2910 E. Lake St. from noon to 3 p.m. Monday to clean.

• Support the Cities has been assessing where clean up efforts are needed and sharing that information on its Facebook page.

Additional resources:

• If people feel unsafe in their homes, Pastor Jenny Sung of Depot Church in Hugo said churches and local hotels in the metro will provide shelter and those in need should contact 651-361-0448.

• Women for Political Change posted on Twitter that it is offering free transportation to people leaving the protests, and asked people to call or text "transportation" to 612-492-1507.

  • South Minneapolis Mutual Aid Autonomous Zone Coordinationis continuing their efforts amongst the community in taking care of residents in the south side of the city. People on Facebook can join the group, where many have provided donations to those in need.
  • Hunger Solutions Minnesotaworks with both state and federal government to advance programs that tackle hunger on the large scale, according to their website. They work with food banks and shelves to distribute food on the smaller scale. 
  • Neighbors United Funding Collaborativeis a nonprofit fundraiser supporting the Hamline Midway Coalition in St. Paul. According to its website, Midway United is a local fund focused on strengthening the community. They have a $500,000 goal.
  • Support the Cities, a community service group on Facebook, are working to help neighborhoods and small businesses affected by the recent events. They also accept donations to theEmergency Food Fund.
  • We Love Lake Streetis an organization that is donating 100% of its donations directly to small businesses and nonprofits in the Lake Street community to help them rebuild their storefronts and serve its neighborhoods.
  • Holy Trinity Lutheran Churchis accepting donations to help rebuild the community after the recent damage caused in Minneapolis.
  • "Pop-up" food pantries are being established from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the corner of Emerson and Broadway avenues in North Minneapolis and at the intersection of Central and Lexington avenues in St. Paul.
  • Twin Cities Donation Driveis accepting donations in Minneapolis at El Burrito Mercado on Sunday, from noon to 4 p.m.
  • A GoFundMe page,Midtown Global Market Mend, is accepting donations to help repair damage at Midtown Global Market, which is home to 45 small businesses on Lake Street in Minneapolis.
  • A GoFundMe page,Help Minnesota Transitions Charter Schools, is accepting donations to help rebuild buildings that were damaged during the riots. The schools serve grades 7-12.
  • A GoFundMe page,701-707 E. Lake Street Fund, is accepting donations for businesses looted and vandalized in the area. Businesses impacted include La Michoacana Purepecha, Total Wireless, Granny's Helpful Hands and El Chuci Market. 
  • Peace Coffeein Minneapolis is accepting donations and supplies like masks, diapers, aspirin, food and more from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday. Please contact them for more information.
  • MPS True Foodis offering free food boxes for children from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday at the following locations: Farview Park, Laney School, Olson Middle School, Edison High School, Waite Park School, Whittier Park, Andersen School, Bancroft School, Hale School, Hiawatha School and Longfellow Park. Please contact them for more information.
  • Du Nord Craft Spiritsare acting as a donation center on Monday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. They are asking for toiletries and canned food. Specific items requested include laundry soap, toilet paper, canned foods and healthy snacks. Du Nord says they will be open from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • YMCA food distributionis available at select YMCA's in the Twin Cities, you can find which locations at the link. Pick up is available Monday-Friday from noon to 1 p.m.
  • Loaves and fishesare accepting donations and serving the community
  • TheCity of Minneapolishas numerous options on their website to help out.

MIGIZI Communications

The nonprofit Native American youth group's center recently burned down. Donations will fund the rebuild.

Alchemy 

Drop off food, water, masks, baby items, toiletries, TP, masks, and more at Alchemy's Edina location ( 6729 York Ave. S., Edina) Monday and Tuesday, 8 a.m.–2 p.m.

The Link

Donate snacks, frozen meals, water, Gatorade, cleaning items, toiletries, gift cards (a priority!), and laundry detergent at the Grace Lutheran Church (7800 W. 150th St., Apple Valley) from 11:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m. Monday. They are also accepting monetary donations for affected communities—see the link for ways to donate.

Augsburg

Augsburg volunteers will accept donations for the Cedar-Riverside community from 1–3 p.m. Monday. Drop off tote and plastic bags, baby items, masks, toiletries, TP, trash bags, soap, laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, and more at Parking Lot L, at the intersection of Riverside Avenue and 25th Avenue South, Minneapolis.

Lyndale Community School

Donate food, toiletries, women's hygiene products, baby items, water, soap, and more from 7 a.m.–4 p.m. at Lyndale Community School (312 W. 34th St., Mpls.).

CUHCC

The Community-University Health Care Center (2001 Bloomington Ave., Mpls.) is accepting toothbrushes, toothpaste, water, laundry detergent, and more, starting at 11:30 a.m. Monday.

Midway

This weekend's drive at Central and Lexington in St. Paul is back on. No specific needs are mentioned in the post, but they're accepting food and other donations from 11 a.m.–3 p.m. Monday.

Pimento Jamaican Kitchen: 2524 Nicollet Ave S. The business is accepting donations for those on the front lines. All are asked to bring food, masks, medical supplies, and toiletries before curfew.

Pop-up Food Pantries: North Minneapolis (Corner of Emerson and Broadway at US Bank Parking lot) Saint Paul (corner of Central and Lexington) Open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Organizer Shay Webbie said donations have been flooding in to the drop-off site on the corner of Central and Lexington in St. Paul. But they need help storing and transporting donations. "This is not a one day, two day issue. This will go on for quite some time," said Webbie, in a video. Webbie said they need storage, drivers/trucks & volunteers. Pow Wow Grounds: 1414 E Franklin Ave. The cafe asked for food donations and received an overwhelming response. Now, the business is asking for normal saline bags plus lines, clotting powder for wounds, diabetic Lancet testing plunger, and ice packs. It is also requesting monetary donations through PayPal angelswann2021@gmail.com or in person with cash.

Sanford Middle School: 3524 42nd Ave S. Food kit donations are being collected to help feed kids in the area. On Sunday from 10 a.m. to noon, food bags can be dropped off in the parking lot.

Sanctuary Covenant Church:2108 Aldrich Ave. N. Is hosting a community gathering and clean up on Sunday, May 30 from noon to 2 p.m. The church is also looking for donations including water, hot dogs, buns, cups, and snacks. It is also asking for financial support:https://sanctuarycov.org/give/.

Touchstone Mental Health: 2312 Snelling Ave, Minneapolis. The organization received an overwhelming amount of donations from the community, so they are no longer accepting donations. The organization said it will be distributing any remaining food they have to residents and clients over the next few weeks. The organization has also asked for help redistributing supplies to the community.
