I went home this weekend to celebrate my birthday with my family. I haven't seen them since Christmas so to say I had a great time would be an understatement! My boyfriend came with and we stuck to only seeing immediate family. Friday night we grilled at my sister's. We caught a gorgeous sunset and I attempted a photoshoot of my sister and niece.
It was really nice Saturday so we got out for a walk with all the animals (my older sister has two dogs and younger sister has one).
If for some reason you find yourself in Fond du Lac, WI, the one place I highly recommend going to is Gilles. It's the cutest drive-in with amazing frozen custard. My grandma's house was just blocks away from it so we used to go there all the time as kids. We got lunch there Saturday afternoon.
Saturday night we did a little bday celebration at my mom's. My niece helped me blow out my candles and then I let her dig into the frosting because I'm a "cool" aunt.
My mom put up this sign in her front yard for the weekend. My boyfriend and I laughed pretty hard at the fact it said "Jenny's 30", like it's a statement, instead of "Jenny's 30th", like we're celebrating a birthday.
Sunday my sister and brother-in-law made a delicious birthday brunch and then we hit the road to head back to Minneapolis. It was short and sweet but just what I needed for my birthday :)
