Jenny's Weekend in Five Pics: 5/1 - 5/3

First off shout-out to all the frontline heroes out there. As soon as I got off work Friday I put our frontline hero signs in a handful of frontline workers yards and although I didn't get to meet any of them, it was very gratifying, so thank you for all that you do!

Friday night my sister and brother-in-law did a Zoom gender reveal and I found out I'm getting a nephew come September! They are very excited to be having a boy!

Saturday my boyfriend and I decided to go on another hike. Before we headed out we swung by one of my favorite local coffee shops, Quixotic. They have a special coffee right now called the "Joe Quixotic" that my boyfriend tried and I always get the white lightening. (They are doing online ordering and then pickup in store!)

We went down to Whitewater State Park to hike. (Just a quick note, you do have to pay a $7 fee for this state park). They have a bunch of different trails with different levels of difficulty. We like to hike so we did the Dakota Trail that was the longest and hardest. Lots of different views along the way. It's probably one of my favorite hikes I've done in Minnesota!

We came across this tree bridge, I'm pretty adventurous so I started walking across it, got about a fourth in and realized it wasn't super stable and the drop was about 8 feet so then I started to crawl to get to the middle for a quick pic. If you want to see a video of me trying to get off of it, it involves some scooting, yoga type transitions, and more crawling, then check out my Instagram.

Saturday evening my boyfriend and I decided to grill. I found a recipe for cauliflower skewers that included Thai peppers in the marinade. I stemmed and seeded them, put them in the recipe, then touched my mouth with my hands that had just touched the peppers. About 3 minutes later, my skin started to burn, my face turned bright red and my lips swole up. I tried anything to fix it but after 15 minutes my boyfriend went to the store to get milk for me cause the pain wasn't going away. I soaked paper towels in milk and laid it on my face for the next hour. I've made things with spicy peppers before but I definitely learned my lesson on this one.

Hope you enjoyed your weekend!
