The Food That Helps Battle Depression

I don't have depression so I don't know what it's like. I get down, but overall, I'm a very happy person. I don't know much but if you are depressed, here are some thoughts:

-Being sad and down for a day doesn't equal depression. Sometimes life is hard and sad and it sucks.

-Motion equals E-Motion. Doctors say that people with depression tend to slump on the couch, sleep way too much and move slowly. I stand up during the entire show and I exercise a ton every week. If you're down, before you run to the doc for meds, try moving your body a lot more. Doctors say if exercise came in a pill form, it would be the most-prescribed pill in the world.

-Food is health. I'm not a great eater. I love salty, fatty, rich food.

But according to the Wall Street Journal, we can control depression to an extent what what we eat.

Here's a little clip from the article:

Vitamin B6:An ingredient needed to produce serotonin, the main neurotransmitter that regulates mood and sleep. Too little serotonin is associated with depression. We need Vitamin B6 every day from our diet.

Sources:Pistachios. Garlic. Salmon and tuna. Chicken. Spinach. Cabbage. Bananas. Sweet potatoes. Avocados. Whole grains.
