Inside the Hotel That Inspired "The Shining"

The Shining is an epic novel by Steven King that is known for a couple of classic scenes:

-The word "Redrum" written on the wall in blood. Turns out it's "murder" spelled backwards.

-The spooky, creepy, ghostly twin girls that suddenly appear in the hallway.

-Jack Nicholson breaking down a door to kill his wife and saying, "Heeere's Johnny!"

Turns out the movie was partly inspired by a real-life hotel in Estes Park, Colorado called The Overlook.

Here's a great article all about it. Happy Halloween!
