This week on the podcast, I talked to Rachel, who struggled with infertility and some other challenges. We talk about how her faith helped her through everything, and whether or not it's a parent's responsibility to introduce their children to the idea of religion, even if the parents themselves are not religious.
Personally, I believe it is parents' responsibility to introduce their children to the idea of religion, in the same way we should introduce them to healthy eating, exercising and community service. That way, as they grow up, they can make an informed choice as to whether religion will play a part in their lives. I'm not particularly religious, but I've always held the belief that religion and faith are two things that no one can take from us, no matter what our circumstances may be. If you're held captive in a crawl space for months, (God forbid) that may be the only thing that you have to cling to.
