Grand Slam 2 "Slam the Stigma"

“Women of Nations (WON) is excited to announce on May 11th, 2019 Midwest All-Star Wrestling/Pro Wrestling 4 Causes will be helping us ‘’Slam the Stigma’’ associated with Mental Health and Domestic Violence!” says David Amitrano, Director of Finance and HR. “This amazing event was held last year at the Minneapolis American Indian Center and with the great history of Minnesota Pro Wrestling and the past events held, we have no doubt we will blow the roof off again with this event!”

Last year’s event saw 825 people pack the MAIC and raised nearly $10,000 for Women of Nations.

So far this year Women of Nations has raised $8,000.00 in sponsorships alone, along with 500 current tickets sold.

Women of Nations will also host different Native American Tribes and organizations at this year’s event.

Minneapolis, MN. Flashback, April 17th, 1993, the National Wrestling Alliance, under the tutelage of Dennis Coralluzzo, and Eddie Sharkey’s Pro Wrestling American presented Grand Slam 93’ emanating from the Minneapolis American Indian Center (MAIC). This event was historically significant because it assisted in launching several performers from local prominence to national conversation, including 20-year old, Sean Waltman (X-Pac), who debuted for then WWF, as The Kamikaze Kid, just over two week later.

Fast forward, almost 25-years to the day, on April 21st, 2018 to the first Grand Slam Event, Midwest All-Star Wrestling/Pro Wrestling 4 Causes (MAW/PW4C), In collaboration with Women of Nations (WON)

The objective is similar; give the regions standout professional wrestlers the opportunity to compete in a high-profile event at a historically important venue. A showcase of hungry and talented athletes each looking at potentially being the next, from Minnesota’s rich professional wrestling history, to follow in those footsteps, the cause, however, is much different.

“We are absolutely honored and privileged to be working with the Women of Nations again” says Eli McCausland (co-owner of MAW/PW4C),With this year’s event raises the expectations but knowing we are raising funds to support this fantastic organization, that does such important work, makes it incredibly rewarding and exciting”.

Professional wrestling will be the “main event”, but there will be many activities taking place on May 11th

A silent auction, prize raffle, local businesses, and vendor guests, will be on hand, a pro wrestling trivia contest, meet-and-greet opportunities with the stars of MAW/PW4C, and much more makes this event fun for everyone.

The show will start 7:00 PM, doors will open at 5:00 PM.

Tickets prices are: VIP (rows 1-3) $20, Floor seating $15, Bleacher seating $10.
