China is very strict with censorship, especially when it comes to homosexuality...
But China actually does want to play the hit movie "Bohemian Rhapsody" . . . AFTER they edit out all the 'gay stuff'. They're removing the scenes where Rami Malek kisses other male characters, and they're also cutting the depictions of drug use.
A Chinese streaming company even edited Rami's uplifting speech at the Oscars, cutting the phrase "gay man," and replacing it with "special group." (???) (I mean, why even bother?)
(If the whole point is to suppress the notion of homosexuality, why drop the WORD "gay," but keep the general context of what he meant. I mean, "special group" isn't going to fool anyone familiar with QUEEN.)
