From Fast Company, here's a great article to help us get a few extra minutes out of the day. Before we get to it, I've discovered the best time saver in my life is cutting WAY back on watching TV. People talk about the shows they can't miss and the shows they binge on. I just don't. I don't have a "can't miss" show. I don't watch football anymore which totally frees up my Sunday. So I would say, if you complain about being busy, but you watch "Dr. Pimple Popper" on a regular basis, you need to rethink that! :-)
I'll tell you where I DO screw up. I push the snooze button twice every morning to get an extra 18 minutes of sleep, even though most mornings I don't really fall all the way back to sleep. I just lay there when I might as well get up and get started.
Oh, one more. If you do watch a good amount of TV, watch while you're on the treadmill. If you don't have a treadmill, get one of these:
Here's the link to see it on Amazon. I use mine anytime I'm watching TV for more than a few minutes. It's less than a hundred bucks and it definitely gives you a workout!
Here are a few tips from the article:
- Stop hitting snooze - saves around 20 minutes a day.
- Cut meetings back to either 20 minutes or 45 minutes.
- Taking breaks improves productivity.
- Turn off the TV and go to bed early.
