Dave's Weekend in Five Photos: November 30 - December 2

I had the best Saturday I can remember. I got up, had a latte I made with a machine I got for Christmas last year, I ran 5 miles, I practiced my banjolele, I got the Christmas tree lights working, played a board game, and watched a great movie!

Here are five pictures from my weekend!

Just a random picture of our tree. Actually, we have two. I went with the big, old school lights for the tree this year like my mom and dad used to have.

I got on the treadmill Saturday and I usually do 3 miles. This time I decided to do 5 which I haven't done in a long time. I was able to run 5 miles at 6 mph with no problem. I know it's because I've lost weight on Medifast. 20 pounds down. And it helps that I've gone to Snap Fitness too.  I'm not getting paid to say that, it just happens to be true.

My son Chase sent me a hot sauce making kit for my birthday and I got it out Saturday and made some really good chipolte sauce. It was easy to make and the sauce was actually really good! It lets you make about 4 different kinds. I have to say though, most kits like this have instructions that are written to be funny and clever, and are usually horrible as far as actually telling you what to do.

In this kit, it has a ph strip to test it when you're done, but it doesn't tell you how to test it or what to do if the ph is off.  It also tells you "combine all the ingredients in a pan and simmer."  The next step is "add the vinegar to the pan."  Wait, you just told me to add all the ingredients so I already put the vinegar in there.

I have a knife-making kit too where you actually make a knife with a wooden handle.  The instructions are so bad (but so cleverly written) I had to email customer support and even the guy I wrote admitted he didn't get them either.

BUT it is kinda cool to make things like this!

Saturday afternoon, the weather was bad so we all were just staying home, hanging out and I noticed Carson was on his phone. And he'd already been on it for an hour. Just sitting, scrolling. I told him there was no way he was going to sit on his phone till midnight and to get up and help his mom with the tree. So he did.

Right after, we all played a game called "Dicecapades." It was kinda fun but we only got to play about 20 minutes before Carson's buddies came over to hang out.  I told him we all should play with them but that went over like a fart in church.

Oh, after, we all watched a movie called "The Ritual" which was freaky and good and I totally recommend it.  If you like low-budget horror movies like "13 Cameras", "The Gift" and "The Boy", you'll probably like it.  And it's on Netflix!

I hope you have a great week! Thanks for looking at my blog!
