Just across the St. Croix is beautiful Hudson, WI. Some call it a small town, others call is Historic Hudson but in the early 2000's it was the scene of a double murder which shocked the community. As of February 5, 2002 there hadn't been a murder in the town for over 20 years.
It was a cold Tuesday afternoon on Feb. 5, 2002, when police received a call at about 1:40 p.m. from the St. Croix County medical examiner. He had stopped at the O'Connell Funeral home for a number of run of the mill in Hudson for routine paperwork, he entered the business office where he discovered the owner, Dan O'Connell and an intern from the University of Minnesota named James Ellison.
