Dave's Colorado Weekend in Five Photos

Welcome to my weekend in Five Photos!

First question you may have is, "What the @#%@ are you wearing cut-offs for?  I CANNOT unsee that!"

I understand. I flew to Colorado Saturday and the weather here was so hot and beautiful that I wanted to wear shorts but didn't bring any. I found an old pair of jeans in the house and cut the legs off.  No, it's not symmetrical and yes, it looks like I had a stroke while doing it.  But it worked and they feel awesome outside!

Let's go back to Friday night.  I volunteered with the Boy Scouts at the Victoria Lions Softball Tournament. We emptied trash and recycle bins, separated garbage and smashed the cans for recycling. We've done it for years and believe it or not, it's kind of fun!

Meanwhile, back in Colorado, this little guy and his buddies have been invading my bird feeder here ever since I got it a few months ago.  He's cute so I don't mind.

This is a banjolele.  Like a ukulele, but it sounds like a banjo. I'm learning to play it and I have to tell you it's so much fun.  I just love it.  So relaxing and who doesn't love music?

BTW, there's an app I'm using that makes it so much more fun than trying to learn by watching YouTube or buying a music lesson book.  It's called "Yousician" and it's about $10 bucks a month. You select the instrument, guitar, bass, piano or ukulele, then you select the time you want to spend on the lesson today, 10, 20 or 30 minutes. It teaches you to play kinda like Guitar Hero, with video tutorials and more. It saves your progess and gives you tips and rates you.  It's AWESOME.

And since it was so nice out, and SINCE I made those lovely cut-offs, I decided to sit at this picnic table and do my weekly podcast, "Take a Shower, Show Up on Time and Don't Steal Anything." We talked about future chapter ideas for my book including one that I believe is so important that I used it to wrap up this week's podcast. I hope you'll listen! It's on the Podcast App, iTunes and on Soundcloud.

Have a great week! Thanks for looking at my blog!
