Jenny's Weekend in Five Pics: 5/4 - 5/6

Friday night my friend Alex was in town from New York.  We threw a surprise party for him and then went out downtown for a little bit.

This weekend is one of my favorite of the year!  I've been on the judging panel for the Minnesota Teacher of the Year program for the last 2 years and Saturday was the final round of judging.  There were 12 finalists that have to sit through a half hour interview with all the panelists.   Usually tears start flowing in most interviews because of all the emotions and passion that come along with that career.  I cried plenty!  Here are all the people on the judging panel:

I did dinner Saturday night at Pancho Villa with some girlfriends to celebrate Cinco de Mayo!

Sunday was the award banquet for the MN Teacher of the Year Program where the winner is announced.  This year Kelly Holstine from Tokato Learning Center in Shakopee was selected.  All finalists were more than deserving of being the MN TOY but Kelly blew us away in her interview so congrats to Kelly!

And here I am with Abdul Wright, the 2016 MN Teacher of the Year.  One of my favorite things from being on this panel are the people I've met.  I've learned SO much and have been inspired by every person I've crossed paths. Abdul is one of those people.  If you don't know who he is, google him, and you'll probably learn why he's so awesome.
