Hope you had a good weekend! Here's mine in five photos!
Carson and I went to a special Boy Scout event this weekend called "The Order of the Arrow." I joined it when I was his age and so this weekend, he was initiated and I "leveled up" which is kind of cool to think that I just built on something I started when I was 15. (That's also why I have two red bars on my sash)
That's my orange tent in the middle. I absolutely love sleeping in a tent. It's cozy there's something about it that usually makes me sleep way better than I do inside.
These little guys were everywhere on the beach at the lake. One of the scout moms told me it's a sand spider. It's both ugly and beautiful at the same time!
After Carson won his award, I taught him how to play cribbage. Cribbage is a great game no matter what, but is especially popular with scout parents.
And finally, a pair of pictures that really tell how it can be to raise a kid.
On the left, is Carson and I leaving a scout campout 6 years ago. He was looking up and me asking me a question. You can't see it but I remember he was smiling and happy to be walking with his dad.
On the right is Sunday morning. He's walking to the car and I asked him to wait up and he kept walking. It's almost as if my shadow being left behind kind of shows how it is. He's not 10 anymore.
Okay, I gotta stop before I start to heave-cry!
Have a great week and thanks for looking at my blog!
