We received a very special email to Dave Ryan's Christmas Wish from the whole staff at Bright Eyes Vision Clinic. They wanted to share the story of a family who had been coming to their clinic. They wrote:
As a vision clinic who specializes in neurological conditions we see many patients who are struggling and in need of help. But in late October when Ellie Lindstrom came in for an appointment with her mother Jill, I knew this appointment was different. Ellie had been suffering from whole body pain, headaches, and light sensitivity for months. We were their last resort. Jill was having their home checked out by the gas company to determine if there was a gas leak to see if that was the cause of Ellie’s symptoms, but to no avail.
After Ellie’s dad searched the house high and low for some source of a gas leak Ellie and her mother returned for her follow up about a week later and her mother felt like she finally had an answer as to why her daughter was going through this, I was not prepared for the picture she was about to show me on her phone. The pictured showed a sewage pipe that had been leaking sewage gas into their home for months unbeknownst to them. This was the cause to their sickness. Now it is not just Ellie that is sick, we are now treating 3 of the 5 family members at our clinic.
They have had to move out of their home, as it was making them sick. They cannot use any of their belongings as they are permeated with sewage gas. Everything was ruined right down to the dishes and the kids toys. All that they have right now are two air mattresses. They are nothing but grateful and just want to do whatever it takes to get their family healthy again. Our Christmas wish would be give this family one less thing to worry about this holiday season. Thank you for all you do KDWB!
