One person's favorite movie is another person's LEAST favorite movie. And we'll probably never stop arguing over who's right and who's wrong.
So let's get some new arguments going with this list of the 25 most overrated movies of all time . . . featuring "Joker" in the top spot.
1. "Joker", 2019
2. "The Shawshank Redemption", 1994
3. "Up", 2009 (This one might make your jaw drop, but the reasoning is actually solid: The rest of the movie just doesn't live up to the brilliant, heart-wrenching first 20 minutes.)
4. "Everything Everywhere All at Once", 2019
5. "Grease", 1978
6. "Friday the 13th", 1980 (Does anyone actually overrate this movie? Even people who love it probably wouldn't say it's some kind of masterpiece.)
7. "The Breakfast Club", 1985
8. "Amélie", 2001
9. "Miracle on 34th Street", 1947
10. "Once Upon a Time in America", 1984
11. "The English Patient", 1996
12. "The Revenant", 2015
13. "Gone with the Wind", 1939
14. "The Notebook", 2004
15. "Gladiator", 2000
16. "The Birds", 1963
17. "Good Will Hunting", 1997
18. "Fight Club", 1999
19. "Top Gun", 1986
20. "Elf", 2003
21. "Prisoners", 2013
22. "Desperately Seeking Susan", 1985
23. "Private Benjamin", 1980
24. "Gravity", 2013
25. "American Hustle", 2013
(I'm a little surprised to see no Quentin Tarantino on here. I don't think there's a single filmmaker who gets branded overrated more. I wonder if the author of this list is a Stan?)
