The MN Fringe Festival ended this weekend and in total over the last 11 days, I saw 49 shows! My favorite shows of the Festival were: VILE, Daddy Issues, Becoming My Mother, As Above, So Below, 5x5,and Good Ones.
I saw four shows on Friday and seven on Saturday, and then hit up Fringe Central (like the meeting grounds for Fringe people) and won 2nd place in theatre trivia with my friends Justin, Jeanette, and Madeline. I can't believe we got 2nd. We didn't know any of the answers. I got a free drink ticket!
Sunday I went to a meet up of former Disney Store castmembers. We meet a few times a year and it was great to see everyone again. Disney closed all of their stores in 2021. I had worked there as a side hustle for 7 years!
Rounded out my Sunday with more Fringe. Finally got to attend the show I directed, Janelle Did You Know You Talk Really Fast, and saw some great improv to close the evening.
The After Party was at Can Can Wonderland, where my improv-friend Danylo won TWO awards for his show A First-Class Comedic Revue… Featuring the Reanimated Corpse of a Wright Brother. I knew a million people at the party, but had the worst social anxiety upon arriving, so I clung to the 3 friends I had there. Being in a sea of your peers that you're convinced don't know who you are is STRESSFUL.
I did meet these aliens.
Came home late to my cat. I can't wait to be at home more to snuggle. Until next year, Fringe!
