It was a very Pride weekend!!
On Friday, I went to visit Momma Ronda up in Andover and we got wings at Beef O'Brady's! All flats, extra extra crispy, blacked dry rub, and firecracker sauce on the side. We love Courtney, best bartender in allll of Andover. Also I love my mom.
I went on one of my multi-mile walks on Saturday morning and ended up in a really fancy neighborhood. Ogled the houses, lamented over not being able to afford one, but I did see this cute environmentalist art!
Saturday was the Minneapolis People's Pride at Powderhorn Park. It was a smaller, non-corporate Pride festival without police. I went with my friend, Hannah, and while it was small, it was very well attended! We ran into some burlesque friends and my former coworker, Javeriah! And the weather was perfect.
Saturday night, Hannah and I went to the Big Queer Burlesque Bonanza at the Turf Club in St. Paul. The theme was rainbow and I went with an iridescent vibe.
Sunday was the Pride Parade, and I got to represent for KDWB with our Street Team: two Ellies, Grace, and Dustin! We were in between behemoths Target and Delta, but we still had a good time. I got to meet a lot of cool listeners and got my step count in.
After the parade, I found Hannah once again and we scooted around the festival grounds. We both agree that the Pride festival could graduate to a larger space. We felt like sardines in a can. Still beautiful weather, and we ran into a bunch of people we knew!
Finally, on Sunday night I went to ANOTHER grad party for another one of my Speech captains! Being around my Speech kids brings me so much serenity and joy, so I'm glad they all spaced their grad parties out over time. Only one more to go next weekend and then the class of '24 is done!
