A new survey has found that 43% of workers admit to having an affair with a colleague at work at some point in their lives.
25% of them said it happened in the work place, 21% said it happened during work events, another 21% said it happened digitally, through calls, texting, and social media, 17% said it went down at a meeting outside of work, and 14% took advantage of work trips away.
They also compiled lists of the professions most- and least-likely to cheat with a co-worker. The 10 MOST-likely are:
1. Sales, with the irregular work hours and frequent networking events.
2. Teacher, Again, the cheating is specifically with CO-WORKERS.
3. Healthcare
4. Transport and logistics
5. Hospitality and events management
6. Engineering and manufacturing
7. Property and construction
8. Accountants, banking, and finance
9. I.T.
10. Armed forces.
The professions LEAST-likely to cheat are:
1. Science and pharmaceuticals, They didn't offer a suggestion for WHY, but it's possible that giant white coats just don't get people's engines revved up.
2. Business, consulting, and management
3. Law enforcement and security
4. Creative arts and design
5. Media and internet
6. Law / legal
7. Environment and agriculture
8. Marketing, advertising, and PR
9. Public services and administration
10. Retail.
For what it's worth, the affairs are NOT always exposed. 22% of the offenders believe their partner never found out.
