Dave's Weekend in Five Photos: Why Is Meatsauce From KFAN in Here?

It's been kind of a quiet weekend. I haven't done too much that exciting, but I think that's how life goes sometimes. And that's not a bad thing. I did watch "Don't F**k With Cats" on Netflix and it's really good and disturbing and odd. It's a true story about how someone posted a video of them abusing cats on the internet and how a handful of people would not stop trying to track him down. It's a limited series which I like, cuz that means you don't have to commit hours and hours to watching it.

OK, let's get started!

I walked into a new-ish place in Victoria on Friday night called Victoria Burrow. It's kind of like a Dave and Busters but much more of a brew-pub kind of vibe. And right inside the door, I saw this. Gotta love Sauce. Everybody in the building loves him.

Saturday, I went out to enjoy my new winter passion, cross-country skiing. I took a longer, more challenging trail and it was great. So peaceful and I only saw one other person on this three-mile trail. Part way through I heard water flowing and looked up and saw this. It's at Carver Park Reserve and it's called King Trail if you ever want to check it out.

Saturday night we went to St. Paul to walk around and see the Winter Carnival. It was a beautiful night, a little chilly but not awful and there were so many happy people out just enjoying the night. These two are Winter Carnival royalty and I thought I'd get a picture with them in it.

A band playing in Rice Park at the Winter Carnival. The place was packed and the band was great!

Sunday, I got on the treadmill and did a super-challenging interval program and watched "Ridiculousness" on MTV. It's actually kinda funny but I don't want to make a habit of watching it!

Kind of a weird mood now because as I was getting off the treadmill, I started hearing the news that Kobe Bryant had died in a helicopter crash. Such a shock and so sad. I'm not a basketball fan but it's still so sad to think of the families and the poor people on that helicopter who thought they were just taking a quick, safe and fun ride.

This might not be the right place to say it, but as a pilot, I would advise you to never ride on a helicopter. I've heard of too many accidents that have killed people who were just up for a fun ride. My cousin Jim died in a helicopter crash years ago and it was so awful. I knew of a radio traffic reporter who died in a helicopter crash. So sad and so sudden and tragic. If a helicopter loses power, it's going down. If a plane loses power, it's still a good glider. If you're on vacation and considering a helicopter ride, please think about it very carefully and ask if it's worth the risk.

Sorry to end on a downer note. I have a big announcement on Monday morning at 7am and I hope you can listen!

Have a great week and as always, thanks for looking at my blog!
