Falen's Weekend in Five Pictures 6/14-6/16

Friday Jake and I went to a restaurant downtown for an early dinner and "drinks" with our friends, Jason and Collin. We were planning to go to a movie after, but I realized I never finalized the online purchase of the tickets, and it was sold out. Whoops!

Saturday we grabbed breakfast and walked around Lake Harriet, AND MY PEONIES BLOOMED! Peonies are my favorite flower, so I planted two small bushes in front of my house. They finally bloomed:)

I decided to use my bundt pan I've had forever to make a banana bundt cake. OMG! It turned out AMAZING! This is a pic without the glaze which was a homemade cream cheese glaze. I cooked mine for 35 minutes, and probably could've done 37, but it was so moist and amazing! Click here for the recipe!

Sunday, Jake wanted to go to the Original Pancake House and get the apple pancake like his dad used to get, so that's what we did. We also visited his Grandpa Jerry! He is absolutely the sweetest man!

I chatted with my dad on the phone for a bit, and then we went on an 8 mile run/bike ride. Jake has been all about his health an fitness for about 4 months. He works out every day and watches what he eats. He's probably lost 15lbs. He has been running and easily running longer distances, so he decided to do a half marathon in August. Good luck to him...I'll be almost ready to pop then!

On the ride, I had to pee and stopped at a port-a-potty in Theo Wirth. I had to take a pic of this...which I can only assume is Dave's handy work...

I also made this chicken piccatta for dinner. If you make it, know the sauce didn't thicken for me. I had to add a little corn starch. I was quite "lemony", so I might use just one next time unless you love lemon. I hope you had a great Father's Day Weekend!
