Most neighborhoods in America will host Halloween trick-or-treating TONIGHT, so if you waited until now to Google costume ideas . . . you are a LITTLE behind the eight ball. (Actually that's brilliant. You could DEFINITELY spin a last-minute "behind the eight ball" costume!)
The NRF put out lists of the top Halloween costumes this year for children . . . adults . . . and pets. Here they are:
For children:
1. Spider-Man
2. Princess
3. Witch
4. Ghost
5. Superhero
6. Batman
7. Superman
8. Wednesday Addams
9. KPop Demon Hunters. It's pretty impressive for this to crack the Top 10 overall. Characters from the movie "KPop Demon Hunters" have been called the "top-trending" costumes for 2025.
10. Vampire.
For adults:
1. Witch
2. Vampire
3. Pirate
4. A Cat or Batman. (???) (I guess that's a TIE, but it's kinda funny. How about Catwoman!)
5. Superman
6. Ghost
7. The Addams Family
8. Zombie
9. Princess
10. Star Wars.
For pets:
1. Pumpkin
2. Hot dog. (As in the food. Not a "sexy" dog costume.) (???)
3. Bumble bee
4. A TIE between a Ghost or a Superhero.
5. Bat
6. Dog. (If your pet IS a dog, this is like showing up at work without a costume, and saying you dressed up as "Overworked and Underpaid.")
7. Witch
8. Spider
9. Batman
10. Cat.
It's worth pointing out: One in six people think pets ENJOY dressing up for Halloween. (Also: Apparently, one in six people are DELUSIONAL.)
