This might sound like bad parenting advice . . . probably because it IS bad advice.
TikTok moms have been telling parents to try feeding their baby a spoonful of BUTTER. (???) They claim it helps them sleep through the night.
Moms in the U.S. started the trend. (Because of course.) But it's spread to other countries too, like England and New Zealand. A lot of tired parents feel like it's worth a shot, and what's the harm?
But experts say there's no reason it would work. And despite what TikTok says, it's NOT harmless. That much saturated fat isn't good for anyone, especially babies. And a dollop of butter can also be a serious CHOKING hazard.
It's normal for kids to not sleep through the night, and kinda part of the deal. So don't shove butter in their face to shut them up.
A bunch of parents who've tried it confirmed it didn't work. So once again, don't believe everything you see on social media.
