Andy Grammer has been touring since 2011! Since his wife is pregnant again, with a little girl, it's been fresh on his mind how different life in general can be for women.
For the first time in 8-years he had a sit-down with the women on tour! There's five of them on total. Andy asked them this, "Is there anything we can do to make this tour better for you?"
They gave some suggestions that included: Trash cans with lids on the bus, this guy touches me unnecessarily when he talk to me, extra care about changing space on weird one-offs and festivals.
What shook Andy is that one by one they each told him that in all their years of combined touring no one had ever asked them this question! Andy then realized, he in 8-years never asked the question. It's the asking and listening that doesn't come so naturally to us.
He ended with this, "I sincerely hope this doesn't off as self-congratulatory. I'm more hoping that openly sharing my ignorance will spark meaningful conversations!"
