Older Millennials (aged 25 to 34) make up 13.6 percent of the US population, but 30 percent of the current population of existing-home buyers, according to Realtor.com.

Ellie Mae, a mortgage data firm, has a Millennial Tracker that highlights which towns have high percentages of mortgages closed by Millennials.

Here are the top 11 cities that Millennials are moving to, according to Ellie Mae.

  1. Athens, Ohio: 59%
  2. Aberdeen, S.D.: 56%
  3. Williston, N.D.: 55%
  4. Lima, Ohio: 55%
  5. Dickinson, N.D.: 54%
  6. Odessa, Texas: 51%
  7. Quincy, Ill.: 49%
  8. El Paso, Texas: 49%
  9. Oshkosh-Neenah, Wisc.: 49%
  10. Pottsville, Penn.: 48%
  11. Owensboro, Ky.: 48%
