We had planned on hiking the Superior Lake trail and camping this weekend but when the weather turned to be a sauna, we pivoted last minute and rented an Airbnb for the weekend on a lake, 2 hours north of The Cities.
It was such an amazing spot. We packed a ton of food to make most of our meals at the cabin.
Andrew mountain bikes and I've been thinking about getting into it as well. We were only 20 minutes away from Cuyuna so we rented bikes from Red Raven in Crosby and then hit up some of the Cuyuna trails. It ended up being a blast and now I need to figure out how I can afford to buy a mountain bike, lol.
We explored Crosby for a bit as well. Ate at Iron Range Eatery, checked out Victual Shop, grabbed coffee from Red Raven (it's a duo bike/coffee shop), and had a beer at Cuyuna Brewing!
Our Airbnb had kayaks and one of my favorite parts of the trip was getting out for some sunset kayaking!
We are normally go, go, go, on any vacation we take and this one was such a nice change of pace. I journaled, we both read books, slowly drank coffee in the morning instead of getting up to go do something right away, still did activities but had breaks in between to just hang out, it was perfect! And now I'm super jealous of everyone who has a cabin to escape to for some R&R.
Hope you survived the heat and had a great weekend! Now bring on FALL, am I right?! LOL
