Jenny's San Diego Birthday Trip in 10 Pics!

I booked a trip to San Diego on a whim for my bday weekend because I found an insanely cheap flight. I had never been and it was on the top of my list of places to get to in the U.S. My girlfriend, Muna, ended up coming with. We flew in Friday night, got ready, and then headed downtown for birthday shenanigans. We went to two bars: Barleymash & RusticRoot.

We had some guy friends that happened to be in San Diego this weekend too. They had a much nicer Airbnb than us so we ended up hanging out at their spot a bunch.

Saturday morning we did brunch at The Mission and while we waited, stumbled upon Better Buzz Coffee. It was so good, if you're ever in the area you should check it out!

After brunch we went to the beach and chilled for a little while we planned our day.

Here's a funny story from our trip. Our Uber driver to brunch recommended a few hikes and the one we decided on doing was Torrey Pines. He told us that most Uber drivers drop people off at the wrong area and said we needed to get dropped off at the Scripps Aquarium entrance. So that's what we did. Well, that was completely wrong. A solid 10 miles away from where we needed to be. BUT then we talked to the aquarium workers that told us of a swing nearby that had a view of La Jolla, so we found that and embraced the confusion.

After that little adventure, we made it to Torrey Pines and hiked along the beach.

Saturday night we went out in Pacific Beach. This was a fun bar called Mavericks!

It rained Sunday and learned people in San Diego do not do anything when it's raining. So we went to the brewery our friend Meagan worked at and hung out during the afternoon and then at night went out around the beach.

And got photombombed real good.

This is a front runner for favorite trips I've taken. If you have never been to San Diego, you should try to get out there if you're able to! Happy I got to ring in another year of life exploring such a fun city!
