I have been waiting to post these in hopes I would have a picture from my bird camera. I finally put it up today, but it's so hot, I haven't seen a bird at any of my feeders. I'll get one soon! Friday I went in for surgery on my mouth. Back story, I had a growth on my tongue almost 2 years ago that wouldn't go away. Then I got another one in the gum line of my mouth on the same side as the tongue growth. The tongue one never bothered me, but the gum line one was odd. It would get tender, and I could feel it fill with blood and get bigger if I leaned over or did a plank etc.
SO I finally went to my dentist, who referred me to an oral surgeon, who referred me to an ENT, who referred me to another ENT at the U, who referred me to a radiologist. It's a malformation basically, and it's odd to see in adults. It's more common in children. It isn't cancerous and won't become cancerous, so that wasn't a concern. It was basically a lot of blood vessels in one spot. When it would get bigger, it was basically clotting. It turns out, the increase in hormones...ahem, OLIVE! brought it out. I didn't need to remove it, but since it bothers me, they recommended it. I chose to not mess with the one on my tongue because I didn't want it to affect my speech obviously. The procedure is called scelotherapy. It's similar to what they do to remove spider veins, but also different for my mouth. The oddest thing is that they do it from the outside of my mouth, so the needles go through my cheeks. I had NO idea until the surgery was over that that was the process. Due to that, I could eat right away. SO this is me right after the procedure...in my jaw bra.
This is the next morning. It hasn't hurt at all which is crazy to me. Yes, it's tender, but it's mostly just swollen. The swelling should go down in a few days. The actual growth could take up to 3 months to reduce/go away. I could also need to go through it again if it doesn't shrink enough.
And then the bruising began, so this is today. The swelling is down a tad though!
But the weekend isn't all about my mouth lol! It was also father's day. All Jake wanted was to go out on the boat, and Olive PASSED out. She has NEVER been a kid that just falls asleep places, so this was surprising.
Also, I tried painting with the acrylics Jake got me finally, and I might...dare I say...like them better than oils!
Thank you for checking out my pictures:)
