Friday was a nice hot walk with Olive and her bunny. Her new favorite thing...aka my favorite thing...is me singing the Frozen song, and she mimics me. You can see it on in instagram: @falenkdwb
Saturday we got up early for a super long day. We started by checking out my friend's yard sale. She had everyone wear masks, and I got some great stuff. Here are a few things I grabbed.
After that, we went to Fort Snelling State Park. I'll be 100% honest that I didn't even realize there was a park there...please don't judge...haha...I met the girls I took an Amma new mom class with. We sat in a big circle and chatted. I thought it would be hard to keep the babies apart since they all crawl now, but it was so funny. They all sat with their moms just staring at all the other babies.
I had to schedule a time slot to properly socially distance and support a great local business, Golden Rule, with Tina. We both got some pretty cute stuff. I've been focusing a lot on getting items from local businesses when I can. I also found Briefly Baby (you rent baby gear! It's so amazing! Olive got a walker from them. Baby gear is used so briefly and is so expensive!).
Jake's brother is going to lineman school until October, so we had a small family bbq outside to send him off. Olive had her first experience with hammerschlagen. She's a true Minnesotan now! I hope you had a great weekend! I also wanted to mention the Insta account @powerof100msp because they are passing the mic all week to magnify black women, trans and non-binary voices and the important work they're doing.
