It's my first Mother's Day, and I am just so thankful to be Olive's mom. I just never thought I'd enjoy being a mother. I'm not going to pretend that my life changed, and it's just so glorious all the time because there are moments...daily...that I just need some time to myself. BUT I truly feel SO LUCKY! My life did change, and without a doubt, it changed for the better.
Saturday morning we went to Taylors Falls for a hike. It was a pretty perfect day because it was a bit chilly, so I wasn't miserable. We saw some delightful teens smoking weed, and Dillon fell after we told him to simma down 100x. He's fine btw.
Olive got her "big girl" car seat. I haven't installed it yet, and I'm realizing we'll probably need more than one, so that sucks! I initially bought one just to support a local company even though she doesn't need it yet. That one was recalled but technically not, but basically they are refunding me, and we can't use it. It was the new Uppababy. So I asked for recs and ended up getting this Nuna one, and it happened to be a sale day which was AWESOME! (enjoy this face she constantly makes while making raspberries)
We watched a few episodes of the new season of "Dead to Me", and really had a pretty chill weekend. These are the gorgeous flowers Jake and Olive got me. My friend, Chelsey, made this outfit for Olive. AND I was thankful to spend Mother's Day with my mom. Since I've lived in a different state from for years, I never get to spend the day with her!
