I've been making changes to the house, and everyone says I'm nesting. I really don't think I am yet. This is just me. I wanted to paint my cabinets last year, and I didn't do it. When it's a bigger change, I usually wait to make sure I REALLY want to do it. Since I still do, I am. I'm planning to in May. You can see a previous blog post for the colors and hardware I chose.
Also, I have been finally doing stuff that I've been wanting to do for a while because I am actually feeling better. I can eat, and I don't feel nauseous 24/7. Plus, the weather is inspiring me. I loved the rug I had in my living room, but I've had it for about 6 years, and the dogs have taken their toll on it. (I saved it though because I still love it and thought my mom might want it for her house). I ordered this one from West Elm because it was on sale last week! (You can probably tell Elliott is tired from our walk around Lake Harriet) Also, because I'm frequently asked, the table is form Pottery Barn.
Also, I love my kitchen, but I really just don't have a good spot for food which sounds weird. I have a corner cabinet I have used forever, and it's terrible. You can only see a few items in the front, and it's so unorganized. We have a coat closet when you walk into the back door, so I was going to turn half of it into a pantry. I took the lazy route and bought a cabinet from Home Depot and a couple of baskets from Home Goods. Maybe one day I'll do an actual custom built one in there. For now, this is 1 million times better than it was!
