Hamilton review from someone who knows nothing about Hamilton

You'd  have to be living under a rock to not know the Hamilton phenomenon over the past few years. I love going to the theatre to see shows, and every time I go to New York, I have to see a Broadway show. I really don't buy soundtracks for these shows though. With that said, I was not a part of the Hamilton craze. I haven't watched performances or listened to the soundtrack.
When I heard the show was coming, I was excited to see it to see what the hype was about. Is it really THAT good? I brought my niece in from Indiana to see it. She's in all school productions and has a dream to be on Broadway. She's a fan.
I asked her if I should read the lyrics in advance, and she told me no. We went last night, and I got great seats. I'm short, so the best seat to me is the front row of the balcony.
SO here's my take...it's fantastic. I had to listen SO closely though. With the rap being so fast, and sometimes it's harder for me to understand certain men's voices due to depth, I really had to pay attention to understand. I don't know a lot about Alexander Hamilton, so I legit learned a lot! There is very little dialogue, and it was so great seeing a change in the music genre in a musical. I get it. I get the hype. It was truly a great show, and I'd totally see it again!
