When I say it was a perfect weekend, it was a perfect weekend! Both Friday and Saturday I judged two different Speech Section tournaments with my Speech bff Alex Gray and my assistant coach Miranda. I traveled to St. Cloud Tech and Annandale High School and judged Creative Expression, Prose, Drama, Duo, and Extemporaneous Reading. Next week is my team's Section tournament!
After Speech on Saturday, a bunch of us coaches hit up an Annandale brewery called Spilled Grain. I had a hefeweizen and a snickers porter and they were both delicious! Shoutout to the two lovely listeners who came and said hello - I hope you had some delish beer.
After I got home, I went to see some theatre on a whim. Got out for the closing night of Transatlantic Love Affair's show, Red and the Mother Wild. Their work is so unique - one small ensemble plays all of the characters and also act as the set pieces and provide all the music and sound effects. It's insane how good they are.
Sunday morning I sang in the church choir with my Momma. This Sunday we sang For Good from Wicked.
Sunday afternoon, I went on a Bookstore Tour with some friends from high school! We went to Tropes & Trifles, Comma, A Bookshop, Big Hill Books, and Wild Rumpus, (then a special stop at Pinwheels and Play Toys), and then we had lunch at Le Burger. Everyone left with multiple books, but our favorite part was the two bookstores that had cats (Big Hill and Wild Rumpus). Support local bookstores!
When I got home, I took advantage of this beautiful weather and went on a nice long walk around Lake of the Isles. I'm currently eating up an audiobook, Listen for the Lie and I LOVE IT. Almost done!
The only thing I wish I did more of this weekend was cuddle with Capp. He's been sleeping up by my head lately and I love it.
